The Fort River Watershed Association is a group of volunteer citizens, teachers, scientists and river-lovers who work together to:

  • Restore and protect the Fort River and its watershed
  • Support educational programs for people of all ages, to teach them about this precious water resource and encourage them to take an interest in its future
  • Provide data and act as a clearinghouse for scientific research on the ecology of the Fort River
  • Make the Fort River and its banks more accessible for low-impact recreation, including walking, swimming, kayaking, fishing, and bird-watching.

Our goal is to restore and protect the ecology of the Fort River, its tributaries, and watershed lands for the benefit of present and future generations. Through advocacy, research, and education, our aim is to ensure that people from all walks of life can access, enjoy, and value the beauty and importance of this waterway.

We usually meet once a month on Tuesdays.
